contoh Narrative text

There was a group of frogs. They were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit.When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead.Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up.

Narative Text adalah cerita imaginatif yang bertujuan menghibur pembaca. 

Generic Structure dari Narrative Text: 

1. Orientation: siapa atau apa, kapan dan dimana peristiwa itu terjadi. 
2. Complication: Kapan dan Dimana cerita tersebut mulai berkembang.
3.  Resolution: Ketika masalah didalam cerita mulai terselesaikan. 
4. Evaluation: berisi penilaian/evaluasi terhadap jalannya cerita atau konflik. Sedangkan
5. Reorientation berisi penyimpulan isi akhir cerita.

Contoh :

Snow White
Once upon a time there lived beautiful women named Snow White. She lived with her dad and her stepmother. Unfortunately, her stepmother was a very evil woman that wanted Snow White to die. Her stepmother starts to try to kill Snow White because of her jealousy of Snow White's beautiful face. 

The next day she ran away from the castle and she ran into the wood. In the wood she felt very tired and hungry. Then she saw this cottage. She knocked, but no one answered her so she went inside and fell asleep Meanwhile, seven dwarfs came home from his work. They get into. There, they found Snow White woke up from his sleep. He saw the dwarfs. The dwarf said: " What is your name ?  Snow White said, " My name is Snow White. " One dwarf said, " If you want, you can stay here with us. ' Snow White tells all about her story.

One day, her stepmother know Snow White's location and found her. Her stepmother changed into an old woman who sells an apple to her. But, the apple contains toxic that made Snow White finally unconscious. 

The next day, a prince who came to the wood, and he saw Snow White Lying on the bed unconscious. All the dwarf asked his help to wake her up. He finally hug the Snow White and Snow White opened her eyes. She finally live happily ever after with the prince.
